Unikernels are single process applications deployed as virtual machines with no concept of users, passwords, or remote login. Unikernels mitigate up to 70% of security controls listed in many STIGs and usually have an attack surface of less than 0.01% compared to Linux.
NanoVMs is the maintainer of the popular open-source Nanos unikernel. NanoVMs has customers in seven different countries and has been awarded multiple patents and grants on the subject of unikernels.
